Kos Tourist Attractions
The Greek island of Kos is the third largest of the Dodecanese islands, with Rhodes and Karpathos being the bigger islands. It is located in the southeast Aegean Sea, only a few km from mainland Turkey.
Kos is a popular tourist location in the summers and it is an excellent place to island hop from as it has ferry connections with 43 ports, including both the Greek and the Turkish mainland.
There are many excursions and tours on the island, a wide variety of which we have listed below.
From the Port of Kos: Full Day Boat Cruise to 3 Islands
The cruise starts at 10.00 am on board the boat with the captain welcoming the passengers and he will also provide information about the trip you are about to embark upon.
The first stop is the island of Kalymnos and the beautiful village of Vathi. As you close in on the village the boat will enter a magnificent natural fjord with picturesque surroundings of gulfs and caves surrounding the valley. For 1 hour you get to explore the peaceful streets of Vathi, try the famous homemade orange juices and local sweets before returning to the boat where a buffet lunch will be awaiting you. The normal menu for the lunch buffet is pork or chicken Souvlaki, salad, tzatziki and bread or a vegetarian option of beans and dolmades instead of meat. Once lunch is over the cruise will continue with a visit to the nearby fish farms where the smell of fish attracts wild dolphins playing and jumping in the water.
The next island on the cruise is Plati islet and the magically clear water found there. The boat will set anchor close to land and once you get the get-go from the crew you can jump in and swim around the boat or you can stay on the boat where happy hour begins with the barman serving refreshing cocktails at reduced prices.
The final stop of the cruise is Pserimos Island, an island that gets busy in the summer but only inhabits 15 families during the winter. Again, you will have 1 hour to explore, swim or discover hidden paths or just chill at a local tavern.
The whole cruise is around 7.5 hours from start to end.
