Buses from Kos Airport with Bus Routes and Times

The transfer options to and from Kos Airport are not vast given that Kos is an island that takes around an hour to drive from one end to the other, but there are a few options available with the public bus system being one of them.

Public Bus Transportation

There are mainly public buses servicing Kos Airport and Kos Town with a stop in Mastichari.

The bus stop is located right outside the terminal building, 50 m, at Kos Hippocrates Airport and buses leave for Kos Town and Mastichari up to every hour during the summer, and less often during other seasons, Sundays and bank holidays.

During the summer season there are also buses going to and from Kefalos and Kardamena, although not as frequently as the buses to Kos Town.

The price for a single ticket to or from Kos Airport is 2-4€ depending on your destination or location and it is bought on the bus from the driver.

It is always a good idea to check the schedule ahead of arrival as it varies from season to season and depending on which day of the week it is. You can find more information here.

The travel time between Kos Airport and Kos Town is approximately 45 minutes depending on the traffic. From Kos Town there are buses to other locations on the island as well as ferries to other islands, Athens and Turkey.

Shuttle bus

Most flights to Kos are charter flights which often mean that transfer between the airport and the accommodation is pre-organised by the tour operator.

Many hotels also organise shuttle buses for their guests upon request, sometimes at no additional cost and sometimes there is a fee for it.

It is also possible to pre-book a transfer shuttle on your own using the form above.
