When you arrive at Kos International Airport (KGS), make sure to collect your luggage from the baggage claim area before exiting airside to head to the transfer option of your choice. 

Smoking at Kos Airport

There is no smoking in public indoor places in Greece and this includes Kos Airport. Smoking is only allowed outside.

WiFi at Kos Airport

Kos International Airport offers free WiFi to all their visitors. Simply connect to the WiFi network called “Fraport-Free” and launch your preferred browser to visit the welcome page and follow instructions from there. 

Food and Beverages at Kos Airport

Goody’s Burger House is one of the largest fast-food companies in Greece and you can find them in the airport’s external area. There is also an Everest eatery located on landside in the departures area. More eateries are found on airside for departing visitors.

Shopping at Kos Airport

There are no shops on the landside at Kos Airport. The Duty Free Shop is located past the security control available for departing visitors only.

ATMs at Kos Airport

ATMs are readily available for the airport’s visitors and are located in the arrivals area on airside in the “all users” area as well as in the external area.

Health Care at Kos Airport

The airport’s first aid spot is available at the visitor’s service in case of a medical emergency. You are kindly asked to inquire for more assistance directly at the Airport Information Counters. Airport staff can assist in finding it if necessary.

Lost and Found at Kos Airport

Contact your airline, most have desks available at the airport, for assistance about lost items or lost luggage. For assistance about items lost at the airport please contact the Airport Information Counters.

Transfers at Kos Airport

Since most flights to and from Kos are charter flights organised by tour operators it means most visitors have pre-organised transfer between the airport and the accommodation, but in the case you do not have transfer organised through a tour operator there are a few options. 

Rental Cars – car rentals can be pre-booked at Kos Airport and the company desks are located in the arrivals area (all users). It is usually wise to pre-book your desired vehicle. Some of the rental car companies available are Avis and Hertz.

Taxi – Taxis are found at the taxi rank right outside the terminal and there is no need to pre-book unless you want to. The taxis on Kos are metered and the journey to Kos Town has an approximate journey time of 35 minutes depending on traffic and will cost around 40€. 

Taxis can also be pre-booked in advance of your arrival at Kos Airport.

Bus – The bus stop for the public transportation is located 50 m from the terminal exit and tickets can be purchased directly from the bus driver. During high season buses run between Kos Airport and Kos Town, Mastichari, Kardamena and Kefalos. 

Shuttle – Some hotels can organise a shuttle for transfer to or from the airport, the same with travel agencies. 

It is also possible to pre-book shuttles.

Train – There are no trains on Kos.

Ferry – While you can’t transfer from or to the airport using a ferry, many people fly into Kos for further transfer to one of the smaller islands in the region. Kos has connections with 43 ports in the surrounding areas and is a popular place to begin island hopping from.
