Kos International Airport Transfers

Please remember to collect your entire luggage from the baggage claim area before proceeding to your transfer, after your arrival at Kos Airport. 

Many of the flights to or from the airport are charter flights organised by a tour operator and the transfer transportation between the airport and the accommodation is usually, although not always, pre-organised. 

There are options of pre-booking a shuttle transfer through your hotel (or travel agency at the time of booking the trip), or on your own. There are larger options; buses and vans, and also smaller alternatives; taxis and rental cars, are available with choices of different companies. 

Rental Cars

There are several car rental companies located in the arrivals area of Kos Airport. It is usually best to pre-book the car of your choice ahead of your arrival.

Taxis

A taxi rank is located outside the terminal building of Kos Airport with taxis waiting without the need to book in advance. The fare is metered and will vary depending on day of the week, time of day, the size of your company and luggage, as well as the traffic to your destination, and of course also the distance of the journey. Kos have one main road with branches going to different resorts and villages so you will always get where you want to go the shortest way since there aren’t really any optional roads to take in most cases. 

The travel time varies between 10 minutes and 40 minutes depending on destination or origin.

Departing visitors will be dropped off right outside the terminal entrance. 

Buses

The public bus transportation also services the airport regularly depending on where you are going. During high season you can go to most villages on the island using the public bus from the airport, but during low season the buses only go to Mastichari and Kos Town. The schedule varies depending on season and day of the week, and the fare is 2-4€ depending on destination. Tickets are purchased from the driver.

Ferry

A lot of people begin their island hopping adventure at Kos since it is connected with 43 ports in the surrounding area. The 3 ports are located in different places on the island, but most places are reached from the port in Kos Town.

There are no ferries connected directly with the airport.

Train

There are no trains on Kos.

Don't forget - if you plan to travel during your stay, it might be more economical to rent a car at Kos Airport.
